Her passion for cuisine began at 10 years old, experimenting with our Neapolitan and Sicilian grandparents. Specialising in pastry, Emilia has found herself under the watchful eye of
leading, inspirational chefs including Anton Mosimann.
After working at the renowned 5-star hotel Le Maurice, Paris, 3 Michelin starred restaurant, the Dorchester Hotel, London and the Principe di Savoia, Milan, Emilia moved to Sicily to explore her
origins, working for the Planeta family and Michelin starred chef, Accursio Craparo.
Her time there re-ignited her passion for ingredients, products and their history inspiring her to partner with the talented people behind them and bring their products and story over to the UK and to maintain the heritage that their grandparents had created and passed onto them. Sourcing and using some of the most premium Sicilian ingredients imported directly by Strazzanti, Emilia has created The Sicilian Collection of Patisserie & Cakes, small batches, London made.
Following Strazzanti’s success of collaborations with the likes of Bar Termini, House of Peroni, Fenwick’s, Selfridges, Carousel and an appearance on Sunday Brunch in February 2019, Emilia’s latest is a series of sell-out Sicilian supper clubs and aperitivo evenings where Strazzanti transforms a space into Sicily for the evening with convivial dining, sharing platters of traditional Sicilian cuisine and the passagiata joining forces with partners such as McQueens Florists, LSA and Campari UK.
Food has always been at the core of the Strazzanti brand which brings passion for Sicilian produce together with modern imaginings of authentic Sicilian food, with recipes passed through generations, to London. The farmers that Strazzanti works with are third generation with a passion for their heritage, and each ingredient is selected for its unique qualities; from the pistachios
sourced from Bronte, harvested only every 2 years to the blend of 5 different almonds from the Val di Noto region, which Emilia uses in her signature cakes.
Strazzanti currently sell their signature cakes wholesale at Fenwick’s and Selfridges as well as creates authentic Sicilian experiences in London.
