Casata Mergè winery overlooks Roman Castles hills and it’s located in a typically Mediterranean climate area on the border between Frascati and Monte Porzio Catone. An ideal cradle for native vines cultivation: ancient Romans elected this area as ultimate holiday resort because of landscape, climate and overall wine goodness. Mergè family history begins in the early  twentieth century with Manlio Mergè and his wife, grower professional, start winemaker’s activity respecting territory culture and historical characteristics. Today Luigi Mergè, with his sons Massimiliano, Marco, Maria Beatrice and Marianna, after three generations, continues to keep alive that first grafting, keeping intact family roots, producing wines respecting traditions but keeping up with the most advanced technologies. A long and accurate analysis and experimentation path has translated, over time, into selected vines replanting and adoption of new breeding techniques that led Casata Mergè to emerge in recent years in Lazio excellence panorama. Our wines peculiarity comes from vine-growing volcanic soils, true masterpieces for wine lovers.
